Anyone help

Just trying to sort my friends computer out (no firewall, antivirus software etc), bright spark, you know!

Now ive removed all viruses, malware, bargain buddies etc and installed a decent firewall but im being stumped by some porn site that explorer automatically goes to when anything but a bona-fide site address is typed in the address bar.

Been at it for 3 hrs now, cant seem to be able to stop it routing straight there.

It is probably something one of you guys could fix in a milli-second but i need help

please!?

Did you try run AdAware or SpyHunter they work for me? Good luck!

yup, adaware shows it as clean

Try HiJackThis at http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html. It works!

Sypbot also works well. It has a little program that sits in the taskbar that alerts you when a program tries to alter the registry. It then gives you the option to block or allow the change. Good luck, spyware removal can be a b*tch!

use hijackthis, delete cache and files, open "hosts" file in notepad and delete unwanted sites - try all those out. Stay up to date with the critical updates at Microsoft.

This seriously sounds like some type of adware/spyware thing. powerbot s&d should get rid of it.
