Hi,

So I've basically been using the same Mastercard to top up my NameCheap account since forever. Now I'm suddenly getting an error:

"Error occurred Please try again. Additional Info: Credit card number provided and the type doesn't match. "

Checked the credit card, works ok for other purchases, checked the details over and over, they're correct. It would appear the web form they use for topping up has changed. So some modification has occured that I assume is causing the failure. Seems like a bug.

Just wondering, is anyone else having trouble with credit card payments and NameCheap?

I've sent them a support message, but I'm just trying to help get to the bottom of the issue faster, by figuring out if anyone else his having the same problems, as the issue is carrying on and one or two domains are badly in need of renewal now, so it could become an issue if not fixed soon.

Their Live Chat is fast and helpful.

When I have any problem with NameCheap, I always use Live Chat, I only open support ticket when the live supporter ask me to do it.

Yeah, perhaps. The reason I've gone to the ticket system is that it seems to be a bug that's appeared in their website's coding, as I've never had this trouble before, so it's a more technical issue than most.

STILL not fixed. This getting highly frustrating.

They've passed it on to "the developers," so I assume it's going to be Monday or after, now. Not sure if NameCheap's website developers are them or someone else.

I've requested that the 3 domains that are in the reactivation period and now in real danger of being removed from their system be renewed and they can take the money out of my account when I finally manage to top up. I think this is pretty reasonable request, saying as I've been a NameCheap customer for quite a few years.

Used my card there recently, a few times in fact, and all transactions were successful.

Try using paypal? You can pay via paypal using your card.

They have excellent support with the live chat. They also update you by email regarding the issue.

I was having issues with my Mastercard the whole of last week. Contacted the issuing bank and they have now fixed the issue. Does your Credit Card have EMV Chip with SecureCode enabled? If that is the case, try changing your password and trying. Mostly it should fix the issue. If you are using via Paypal, then say use sellers currency to bill (rather than using Paypals currency changing option)
