Today, I was visiting a bunch of sites, working my way down the Alexa list, to get fresh ideas. I visited some awards sites too.

Just about everyone and their mom is using rounded corners in web development and I think that boxy sites (with no rounded corners) look refreshing now.

Is anyone else getting sick of seeing rounded corners on everything?

I never really liked them. I like boxes. And grey. Grey boxes :D

I wouldn't say I'm sick of them. I think rounded corners have their place in design and if done properly, can create a sense of fluidity, rather than a rigid look. Perhaps I haven't checked out all the sites that you have, because the ones I visit still mostly stay on the square corners, so I haven't been overloaded with the round ones as such. And artists have a tendency to like fluid things... :)

I like them and think they are here to stay. Especially when CSS3 is widely supported, round corners will be even easier to do. To quote Kelso from That 70's Show, "Geez it's 1970 why are there still so many square buildings?"

Round is Square
Rectangle is Groovy

I think sites aren't round enough. I'm not a designer in the least bit, but I personally like the round look and think some sites could really use it. If cars and people get rounder every year why wouldn't websites?

they are nice, but I think the trend has hit its crest now.

I like rounded corners in moderation...but not everything should be rounded. One thing I am sick of is the combination of rounded corners and enormous buttons

I just implemented "recently" rounded corners for - shameless plug :) - CityPics.org. And I must say I prefer it over a previous draft with boxes. I'd agree with sunken that it gives it a look of more fluidity.

How about folded edge boxes?

I just finished a very rounded corner website last night! :hehe:

If you don't like rounded corners don't look at Eva Braun !!

Square - rounded - half and half - it's all subjective.

Yea, that is so yesterday!

Here are a few square sites that are hot! Not everything about the sites look as good as I think they could, but the boxy design makes them look special.

Louis Vuitton site is good but the link you gave is a Flash site.

Tiffany is really nice.

The third link, what I like most is the ad for The Age of Insolence book and Today's Agenda box. The rest of the design is bad in my opinion. But yeah, you can do great things with square edges. Bad things with rounded edges.
My point with the Apple Store link is that rounded edges can be moderate and classy, not always flashy and oversized.

BTW the reason cars got more curved is that women are became more involved in car choices, think about it.

I do agree, but I think that there can be a good blend of both. I like flat colors with square corners for most of the layout, and inner design elements, but I still think that rounded outer corners looks great.

I would have to say that it all has to do with the sites design. In some cases it fits and others it looks out of place.
