Apparently my site was indexed on a major chinese website which offers RSS feeds.. I have had about 200 unique refering sites all in the chinese language today accounting for approx 2000+ unique visitors or 75% of my traffic today..

What do you guys think? I heard of people completly blocking chinese traffic all together, but i do not know how to react to this.

I've encountered this just recently.

First I had a look at my analytics and almost half of my traffic came from China, find it weird as I've never optimized my website to be on top of Chinese engine. Then I did some checking on the over all website and found out that some people haved hacked and spammed my site of some medicine. I had a look at it and identified that the spammed medicine was afixed on my websites page for like more than 400 times. The procedure is done quiet clean, you can't see it on your site, the text are not visible but you can see it if you try copying your whole website to a document file (ctrl A).

Sadly my website was very famous on this specific drug for which I suspect highly sold in China or maybe my hacker is from China and search engines found me very popular on this drug and FYI I'm not selling any drug at all as my site is all about IT solutions.

well, pissed off all in all I've always have to delete it and have to check it all of the time.

Maybe its time you run a check yours too :)

I have a couple parked on my own server with my own Adsense pages. Speaking from that experience, I've found that the Chinese language traffic pays a lot lower CPC.

Also, from an Adwords standpoint, I stopped paying for Chinese traffic because it was of astonishingly poor quality, and in almost never converted.

From both ends, I'm not particular interested in Chinese traffic.

I didn't purchase chinese traffic, Ive actually been working very hard to focus on American & European Traffic.

I think I stumbled on a way

to do something with chinese linked domains.but I don't know whether it was one -off or something that could be replicated. What does china government restricts on the net? free acess to any site you want right?what do you do to get around that? you would need to find a site that is still on Bidu or whatever search engines are there still but actually got you to a proxyserver. eventually it would be found but it would get big traffic until then.I had a site couple yrs ago with 240,000 backlinks in china I wish I tried that one

Almost all big time advertisers that do CPM ads ask what percentage of your traffic comes from US. They like that ratio to be over 50% from the US. But with adsense it should not matter much.

I suggest you block it. All this non-relevant traffic probably doesn't look good to your advertisers.
