Hello, i've tried to look through the threads, but couldn't find any recommendations on articles writhing. I friend of mine who's got sites on travelling suggested that I should write articles for him to improve his site page rank, i've got general understanding of keywords density on the page.
Is there anything else one should keep in mind while writing?...Or probably links to other forums or sites on seo.
I'll appreciate all suggestions.
Thanks in advance

when you write articles, some practical tips:
(1) make a thorough research on the subject/topic you're writing
(2) include ref. urls to what you have quoted
(3) always start with a problem seen, solution you propose and some actual live happenings/examples supporting it
(4) encourage some action on your reader's part, it could be subscription to your free newsletter with a gift or a freeware, or an access to your forum with paid sub. status. anything of value to you
(5) always include your url on your by-line and at least on your resource box but not on the body itself
(6) submit to article directories that allows copying of your articles entirely on another's that way it will spread the news about your site

Hi,

I read an article related to that topic, I found it from ezine articles. There are maybe a few hundreds of articles you can read to learn 200% more than some tips here and there.

Some of the tips in the article were:

Give something free to your readers in the resource box. Ex: For a free trial of our software visit our website.

Target main keywords only, and use them often. Just the main keywords.

Make points, or numbers. For example, 7 good reasons why you need ...... then list the 7 reasons one after the other.

Short sentences, short paragraphs, so not to annoy them.

I suggest you this:
- Create a useful, interesting web site and other sites will naturally link to it. The vast majority of the thousands of links to THIS site were not requested.

-Submit your site to major directories, such as Yahoo! and DMOZ.org, in the appropriate category.

-Write articles and submit them to newsletters which are then archived online.

-Hunt for sites that complement yours and ask them to publish your articles.

TIPS are:
Thoroughly Check Spelling And Grammar
Don't Write In Long, Dense Paragraphs
Don't Ramble Or Use Wordy Sentences
Don't Employ Gratuitous Self Promotion
Don't Send Your Article As An Attachment.
Don't Say How Wonderful Your Article Is

Hope this helps :imho:

The way they teach essay writing in high school works for me:
Intro: Thesis sentence + 3 points you're going to raise.
Body: Topic sentence of your first point. Finish each paragraph with a lead-up into your next sentence.
Conclusion. Restate your thesis and 3 points.

Use synonyms of your keywords occasionally and aim to hit the long tail of search with a few phrases. So research your keywords before writing.
Include the title's keywords in the url.

If you distribute it online through article directories, get varied anchor text retargeting those long-tail phrases and 1-2 main keywords.
