I have just started domaining, and have registered a few domains based on advice, research and common sense. But I have not sold any yet. Does anyone here think the following names are valuable? I have them all parked but have some ideas for development:

2000sg344.com - name of a meteor that is coming closest to hit earth
automaticbraking.com - future car systems
drinkpurple.co.uk - Company trade mark,(might have to drop)
cleantechnologyonline.com - green tech
pvcuk.com - PVC windows etc

Good to see another person from Scotland on here...

You have alot of TM names - drop them asap - they will only get you in trouble and cost you money!!!

You have some good names and are on the right lines thinking of future trens but keep your names short - brandable - think about the prices you pay as to what you can sell them for.

I dont think you will make millions on your names - park them or develop them

Whats your background?

.info's are not so premium,
but sometimes fit very nicely,

newposition.info

is the one that stood out for me,
great composition

Bit of a late reply guys, sorry.

Yes I am Scottish!! GET IT UP YE!
My background is in Architecture, but I have always had a strong interest in IT. I started buying domains 6weeks ago after reading a newspaper article on the subject in the Guardian UK. It just got me thinking and I find the whole science behind it interesting. I need to find some time to develop the domains. I have them all parked at the moment. The revenue might just pay the reg fees.
Any recommendations for website templates/creation etc?

Thanks for the advice,

Adam.

I alot of .infos....many of those short .infos arent worth that much because theres tons of 3 character infos left and the others arent that great...

I'm learning this:
quality > quantity

Lot of names you got there :)

I know .info is cheap right now, so why not reg. them right? No!

Stop regging those .info's instead focus on .com.

And before you reg. any other domain, think and collect following information:

- how many Google result do I get when I search for the domainname (with and without the extension) (use estibot.com)

- what is the OVT? (use estibot.com)

- what is the Wordtracker/day? (use estibot.com)

- How high keyword value does it have? (use Google Keyword Tool)

- Who is the market? (country based, international, regional?)

You should at least have the answers to the above questions before you buy/reg. a domain. There are ofcourse many other factors, but if you need a quick one to decide if you should buy or not, the above is enough, imo.

But remember this, do not do like many newbies does:
(following is a quote from Estibot.com)

"IMPORTANT: The purpose of Estibot.com is to give you keyword data and information about your domain.

The dollar valuation is not to be taken literally - it may change, and it is only a quick-look measure of the keyword metrics.

Do not make a purchase or sale decision based on this appraisal."

I hope you can use this for something.

Best regards,

I think you will have to examine your names more carefully before you reg them. LawyerCareers, for example, isn't a phrase people would normally use. They would be more likely to look for 'law careers' or 'legal careers.' Also, are not all lawyers career lawyers?

What does 'face data' mean? Listing the features on a face, such as eyes, nose, mouth? I don't think this is much-needed information, since we've only to look in the mirror to see our face data.

TokyoCapital is odd, because most of us know that Tokyo is a capital city. WalkTravel and HikingTravel ditto, in that they seem to say the same thing twice. When you walk or hike you are already travelling. You would need something like WalkingHoliday or HikingHoliday.

I thougt TopTokyo was quite good, partly because of the two 'T's,' but PrimeLondon sounds a bit funny to me. I think 'premier' is the word normally used. The names I like best are EssentialLondon and EssentialTokyo, because they suggest sites that provide essential information about these places, and they go with the tld.

whits t craic the day,
Another Scot on the board here.
New to this myself but quite like bargainhousing.co.uk could see this with development potential. if you could get some script to check other housing boards/estate agents scanning for cheap houses ie under a certain amount focusing on cities then perhaps countryside. Perhaps even get a google map on the go pinpointing the locations.

sorry but all those .info's make my eyes hurt to much to go though the list

Thanks for all the comments, I'm definitely inclined to try and develop a few sites with the ideas you have mentioned.
I know I should have concentrated on .coms, but .info's are so cheap I couldn't resist!

I advise you return as many of those domains as you can if possible. Start off slow. Register more with experience and time. Register much less early on.

I think it could be the scottish nature I've picked up a few .infos recently hoping for some sort of click thru profit after getting some clicks on 1 of my .infos from a month ago. Not a decent return yet .... However this begs me to ask the question if you dont mind. What sort of traffic do you get on the .infos? better or worse than the dot coms and are the 3C.infos better than the generic dictionary .infos?
