Thought this would be a nice change of pace from domains and news related happenings.

It's lovely winter time here in Ohio yipee.......so my bike is stored for the time being. Just curious if anyone else here rides? Oh yea my bike is an 06 Kawasaki Ninja 650R.

I don't ride but have been on a few Harley's and my friends crotch rocket. They are a blast. Some day I might consider trying and getting a class M license. They do really scare the living bajeezus out of me though.

lol, yea my first bike was an 87 honda CBX that I bought for $300 bucks and learned to ride in my dads backyard. Once that went out on me I decided to buy my Ninja. It's fast enough with a good amount of torque and unnaturally light. I think it's just under 600lbs wet.

Oh and I did manage to lay down the honda at about 15mphs an hour when the throttle cable stuck but was able to bail from the bike with only a bruised ego.

I've always wanted one, but I couldn't afford it and when I could in high school my mom wouldn't let me use her insurance. :td:

Now that I got that 'real' job I'm getting one this summer. I'm probably going to get a GSX-R or a Ninja

I've just done my CBT following my driving license over here in the UK so I can now ride a bike.

It's actually surprisingly easy but still very different from driving a car.

keith, the gixxer's are great looking bikes. If you never owned/operated a motorcycle I wouldn't go for anything over a 600cc engine.

Hey no fair, I was about to ask the same question Adam! ;)

I've never ridden a motorcycle before, but I'm hoping to get a Ninja 250 soon. I've heard a ton of good things about them, love the look, and like the fact that I could get a nice one for $2k or less. In fact, I found one that's about 3 hours from me that's a green 2003 Ninja 250, 2k miles, great shape, and the seller is asking $2k/obo. I'll have to look into that...

The dealership tried to sell me a 250 and when I sat on it the only comment I had was "wheres the pedals?"

Yeah I think a Ninja 250 would take some time to get used to, but I'm all up for that.

I am in the UK. I am 16, and i have just applied for a Provisional Licence, and i have got it. I need to do a CBT, and then i can ride. I will be honest, this thread is like chinese to me. What the heck is a ninja? Anyway, i know i need to learn a bit about bikes before i start doing my tests.

HAD a Honda CBR 600 RR 2003 but sold it for university tuition this past summer. The streets are too crowded around here to get any real fun out it anyways.

And all those talking about a license... why bother? Just don't pull over!! LOL

Too bad that wouldn't work on a Ninja 250, since they max out at about 105 mph...but I don't think I'd go that fast anyways (at least not anytime soon). :hehe:

By the way, Robert, here's some information on Kawasaki Ninja 250's:

when I resided in Thailand I road a two-stroke 250 - almost small enough to be a pocket-bike. Good bike to learn on I would imagine because they are small and light. Still enough kick to get you into trouble though. Nice and snappy out of corners.... oh the memories.

Does the UK have some silly law limiting what you can and cannot ride?

....yep. 50cc is the maximum size you can have if your 16-18.

Don't ask me why, the 50cc bike could go 130mph, and i could still use it. lame rule, but i have to stick to it >.<

i have been riding bikes since i was about 9 or so currently i have a Diversion 900 which has been my only form of transport 6-7 years, i always used to own a car and bike but ditched car ownership

there is not many things IMO better then being out on the open road on a bike

....umm no officer :notme: I've seen people do and those who tried only to end up wrapped around a tree. I'll stick with the tickets if I get pulled over.

I love riding on a nice warm sunny day and plus I save a hell of a lot on gas. I usually pay no more than $5 a week unless I go for real long distances then it may be $7.
