Hello dear fellow domainers,

Need your assistance

Recently sold a domain through GoDaddy domain broker service,

As we have two options to receive funds, paypal and wiretransfer

What's the best option, usually i use PayPal, but hence it has higher exchange rate markup like if the real exchange rate is 85 inr, it calculates on 81 inr, we loose significant amount due to this,

For this reason wanted to try wiretransfer/ direct bank transfer

I'm expecting lesser exchange rate markup,

My goal is to minimise the loss due to exchange and other fees/rates

Any of your help or insights are highly appreciated

Thanks ๐Ÿ‘

I am not Indian but many deal with these exchange rate issues. First, with paypal godaddy pays the fees (not the exchange rate adjust just any of the fees). What does your bank charge you to get a wire? Take that into account too. I don't know the amount of your sale, but some banks can be just like paypal with exchange rate or worse.

I'm not Indian, but I have the same issue converting to GBP from USD.

What I have done is made USD my primary currency in Paypal (in the wallet menu). That way at least, I can use $ to accept payments and also to purchase domains. This avoids having to convert from $ to ยฃ and then back again if I have to pay in dollars in some marketplaces.

Then, whenever I need to withdraw to my bank, one flat sum can then be converted in one go.

I've also heard some people say to use wise.com as the currency conversion is usually a lot better.

Direct Transfer is the Best Option.

Hey, welcome to domain investing!

Start by:
1. Watching what sells (NameBio, NamePros)
2. Focusing on short, brandable .coms
3. Using tools like LeanDomainSearch
4. Listing names on Dan, GoDaddy, etc.

Learn as you go โ€” and donโ€™t rush. Good luck!
