Any idea how much a site like this would cost?

We are interested in getting an invitation e-commerce site built. It would be a pretty big project, as invitations invlolve quantity pricing, customized order forms, etc. My ideal site would be something like this one www.invitationconsultants.com, only mabybe a bit simpler and starting with fewer items (maybe 100 invitations then ading as our budget allows). Any ballpark ideas on what a project like this would cost? I just wanted to aheva n idea of what we might be jumping into and if it would even be feasible for us.

Hey invitationsgirl,

FYI, if the site is built correctly, a store with one item will cost pretty much exactly what a store with 1000 items will cost.

The designer will provide you with a template. You add your products.

You sound like you're near the beginning of your quest to build the site. Why don't you look around at shopping cart scripts, see what features they all have, like the quantity pricing you talked about. See what people think of the customization features. Figure out which one does what you need. Then pay a designer to create a "skin", "template", or just plain ole "design" for your site.

(popular scripts are Miva, OSCOmmerce, Zen Commerce and many many more)

You'll have to figure out about how you're going to accept money, too. When you're just starting out, Paypal might be the best way to go. But you wont go wrong by getting a real merchant account. That way your company's name shows up on your customers visa/mc statement.

Lots to think about - best of luck
