A month ago NameMedia has announced a new SmartName platform:

NameMedia Launches New Platform for Domain Owners

Judging from the e-mail that I have received earlier this month, they are inviting new applicants.

Please share your insight, opinion , or experience !

Best money per click comes from the regular parking using their yahoo feed. The other options include turning your domains into stores powered by shopping.com which takes 2 minutes and turning your domains into content sites where you can add your own adsense or affiliate banners. My advice would be to optimize them all for the regular parking and then after a month look at the names not doing any good and then turn the product domains into stores and if you have any that would fit the content side give that a try as well. The 2 solutions besides their regular parking probably won't show you more money than standard parking but if the names are not doing good anyway nothing to lose really and the hope is that by taking them beyond regular parking they will get indexed which although earnings per click is lower would hopefully lead to more clicks and balance it out. I have domains configured on all 3 options but it's too early to tell although I do see some getting indexed so I guess that is one positive so far. I like having options so I think this is one of the companies with the right vision.

Are the sites on the content/ecom get indexed? Is there a problem with duplicate content? I like what they have done. How would you compare them with Whypark about getting the sites indexed in Google or Yahoo?

Thanks, Jim

I have never used whypark or any other content solution as I generally just park with a yahoo feed at Smartname and TrafficZ as I consider them to have nicer templates than others. The only reason I'm trying some of these content & ecomm stores is because it literally takes 2 minutes to create them so no major investment of time to see if they work and so far I see them getting indexed, time will tell if they hold but I have ecomm stores on the front page of google for the product terms and indexed so so far so good, although the main store/content sites are auto generated you could add some unique text to make them unique. I consider the ecomm stores a nice defensive measure for your best product domains as although they only take minutes to create it doesn't look that way and would be hard for someone to say he is not using the domain as they look good and provide a better user experience than a standard parking page. I am basically using them on my best domains that I intend to hold, domains I wanna sell I am using the regular parking as it's more noticeable the domain is for sale, you can put a for sale link on the stores but I don't think it looks good so I just use a contact us link at the bottom.

I didn't really track it as I made about 70 stores so far and they have only been up a few weeks and I googled a few of the exact match keywords and see them on the front page, with that said I also googled a few just parked and I'm finding some regular parked names at smartname, trafficz and sedo on the front page as well. I would have to do a before/after test of a hundred plus to see which gets ranked better the ecomm stores or the parked pages. I did just hand register a keyword product domain that is parked at sedo for a few days now. I'll take a look in a week or so and see where it is and I have already made the ecomm store for it so I'll flip it over to that and see if the rank increases over the standard parked page.

I added about 100 names to Smartname. Been parking there for 4 years but setting up content/ecom sites there as well. Keep us posted and I will do the same. I am surprised parked pages are getting indexed by the search engines.

Thanks, Jim

Why is it that everyone expects some content providing service to immediately provide them with a great google indexing position, PR, etc?

On average, it takes months to get any kind of recognition from any content generating site, including your own, even with your own original content.

I am making good pocket money from Whypark, with little effort. Always add at least one custom page with 150 original words in the content. Switch it up, just don't go with straight templates.

I can tell you that I'm making half the amount of revenue monthly I'm making with PPC domains (2000 count) at Whypark with only 220 domains. Oh... those domains were getting zero visitors and revenue before I brought them to Whypark. So, in about 18 months, I'm making 50% of revenue on only 1/10 the amount of domains, based on domains that made nothing at all on PPC sites.

What else do you need? Go Whypark.com

I glad you were able to give feedback on Whypark. I have 200 names at Whypark as well and put 100 names on Smartname both Content/Ecom. I will do my own test and after 3 months I will report back on results.

Thanks, Jim
