Hello,

I bought some domains by ENOM "Pre Release Auction" service, some of them still under "Auction Lock".

It says that "during the Escrow Holding Period, the Former Registrant or another may redeem and register the domain name under circumstances determined by eNom in eNom's sole discretion."

Any of your name been taken back by Enom or former registrant during this period? If any, what is the possible rate for your domains be taken back :?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

There is a similar issue at TDNAM (GoDaddys Auction Block)

Many of the domains at TDNAM are GoDaddy.com expired domain names. They post them on there when the domain enters the quick redemption period. The owner has 42 days to redeem this domain name after expiration - so this period must be waited out, even in the event of an auction win.

The reason the registrars do this is because they do not have to pay for the domain name at this point. Essentially they are selling a domain name that costs them nothing. If they do sell it, they pay the registry, if they dont sell it - they just let it go - No harm, no foul (nice little deal, huh?)

I used to work for GoDaddy and I can tell you that the higher the premium of the domain name, the more likelihood the domain name would be redeemed. However, I would say it is in the neighborhood of less than 1% (sold at auction, then redeemed) This is as a whole. Again, the higher value domain name, the more likely it will be redeemed.

What was the domain you were going for?

Durring the Redemption Period - there is a High Fee to get the domain name back. For Godaddy.com it is $80.00 (this includes 1 year of registration). I believe Network Solutions is $150.00 (someone can scold me if im wrong on this one) I believe all registrars do charge a redemption fee (again, scold me if im wrong). This is another reason people do not always redeem the domain name...... it is going to cost them.

Problem with GoDaddy's TDNAM AfterMarket

Domainspade -

GoDaddy never transferred the name I bought in their AfterMarket and they're doing nothing to help and have told me they'll charge me if they do anything on my behalf.

I used BUY NOW to buy a domain name in GoDaddy's AfterMarket auction. I know it was in the expiration period because I'd checked Whois and was waiting to buy the name when it expired. But then I saw it in the AfterMarket and figured I'd better not risk waiting.

I rec'd an email saying the transaction was complete, but never checked my account to see that the name was sitting there (my names are all with godaddy AND the previous owner had the name with godaddy.

Was I supposed to have done something? Their emails said things would be completed by a certain date, then they emailed saying "transaction completed."

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Marcy
