...I had one last name registered with freeparking.com. I was going to let it drop but because the renewal rate is high (and so are their reg rates in general) I thought it best to transfer the name to GD to avoid 'unintended' renewals. Last year I cleared my 1+1 account this way (apart from the tricky .co.uk). Maybe it is a relatively expensive path to close down accounts with 'difficult' registrars, but transferring out seems the cleanest option and a shorter cut to peace of mind. The GD loophole has certainly come in useful here.
