Fake email script? good/bad?

You know the drill, vote on whether you think its good or not.

i'm thinking of adding a fake email script to the members area of my site, membership is by invitation only and i monitor all members so it wont be abused too much but is it a good idea? eg: the user fills out the from, reply-to, message and subject fields and a script sends it, good bad idea? i was thinking it'd make a great prank.

Email scripts are soooo easy to abuse, youd have to monitor it 24/7 or ensure you have very very secure security on it.

For one stop user using it more than once a day, other wise people might sign up, make bots and send spam email all over the world.

2) Check all emails going out

3) Don't have it...then there's no security risk!

bad...spam and unwanted emails are already a huge problem. Why would you want to add to it?

thats the beauty of my invitation-only registration system, only members can register! They type in their friends username and email, it generates a password and sends all the details to their friend, so it cant be abused easily.

IMO, it would only take one or two abusive emails to slip through to get your domain/IP blacklisted and/or negatively associated to whatever the rogue user does.
