You really should look through the last few pages of threads before asking these questions. ;) Naturally, this topic has been debated a lot. Do a search for hyphens or hypenated names for an unbelievable amount of reading material.
Domains without hyphens tend to get more people typing them, and get more repeat visitors because people will forget the domain had a hyphen in. Domains with them are easier to read (most of the time) and search engines supposedly find it easier to "see" the words in a domain.
Sometimes it's worth using them, sometimes not. One thing you should never do is register a hyphenated version of a name that already exists, especially if it's trademarked.

If your domain name has a dash in it, it is still worth something as long as it has good keywords in it. Search engines like domain-name.com much better than domainname.com since it can read domain-name.com as two seperate keywords, and therefore index it better than just domainname.com. If you are developing a website (which will recieve most of its traffic from search engines), and not for just pure domain speculation, then a domain with a dash in it would be better than without. Otherwise, I wouldnt suggest to register or buy domains with dashes in it since people dont really like them.
