Hi,
I have a bad hosting experience to report, my 2nd since late last year sometime
I had a reseller account with a company called 'Avagoo' (www.Avagoo.com) and for a few months everything was perfect. Then (I think the beginning of this month) the hosting went down. I left it for a few days thinking it would be resolved soon, but when a week had passed with no developments I had to contact them. Since the first contact I've been in touch a number of other times, here's how the emails went (sort of):
ME: Hi, the hosting has been down for a while now and I was just wondering when it will be back up?
THEM: Hi, We are working hard to get server up and running.
Will be available asap, please bare with us.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
ME (3 days later): Hi,
I don't want to sound impatient but any idea of how long it will be before the servers are up again? Its been three days since the last email.
THEM: sorry we are working hard to get it sorted
ME (another week later): My sites are still not working? I need to have them working again ASAP.
Do you have backups of the sites? If so, could you send them to me? If not, how long will it be until the server is working again? Can you explain any of the problems you are currently having???
THEM: hi
we are currently moving to a new server to correct all these problems we are getting
ME (another 4 days later): Me again. How long is this going to take?? I feel it is starting to get out of hand now. I cannot afford this downtime, as my website was one of my income sources and it has dried up now. I am losing business. Please can you explain the problems and how long they will take to fix? Can you provide me with backups of my sites so I can put them on another hosting account? Finally, can I have some kind of compensation payment for the money I have lost this month??
Sorry to sound arrogant etc. but I really cannot be having this
THEM: what is your domain name?
ME: [Required information give]
ME (5 days later, no response from them): Hello,
Another 5 days have passed since the last email and still no developments?!?! I really do need my sites back up ASAP. And can I have some sort of compensation, even if its just a refund for this months' hosting? Surely that is only fair due to the long period of time the hosting has been down?
The last email shown above was sent yesterday, and I haven't had a response yet. I am starting to get seriously annoyed with this. Its the second time my site biospherical.net has been down for a prolonged period of time since its launch mid-December. The first time I lost it completely and had to rebuild the site from scratch. Until the hosting went down it was doing quite well.
To add insult to injury, as well as having no income from the site I can't sell it as I intend to. The site was doing well before the downtime but now I no longer have the time to maintain the site and deal with customers etc. (exams). I was hoping to sell this site now and then in the summer start a new project or two.
