I have got some school work on a USB flash drive but when I plug it into my PC to retrieve the docuemnts windows isn't reconising it at all, do any fo you know what the problem is? I'm using windows XP.

Rep and 25NP$ for the first person to give me answer and how to fix the problem.

So when you go to Start>My Computer the drive isn't listed there?

Yes when i go into my computer its not listed.

you sure you're usb drive is working properly?

you should check whether your usb drive is infact one of those 'plug-n'play' drives.. because I'm betting that the driver for it isn't installed. If you're copying information from your school computer to your home computer on this drive, you should have probably previously installed it on YOUr computer at home. I cannot see a reason for it not working except maybe the plug-n-play issue. Also this is considered a removable drive so try to type in K: in the address bar. If this doesn't work try D:-, E:-, F:-, G:-, H:-, I:-, J:-, K:-, L:. My removeable drive uses the removable drive slot "K:".

is it kingston? if it is, can you see on device manager if its there with an exclmation or question mark? if exclamation , unplug it and then plug again it will reinstall driver. HTH

I think the device is just broken, I tryed it in a few different Pcs but thanks for the help.
