Announcing SnapNames Seller ProgramBeta

Delivering Liquidity to Domain Name Investors

As a valued SnapNames customer we invite you to join our new program for domain sales.

This exclusive sellers program has been created in response to overwhelming requests for a different kind of sales platform, one that can result in a sale quickly and reliably while getting fair market value for domain names.

Here are just a few benefits to our program:

β€’ Fast and reliable. Advertise names for up to thirty days, followed by a fast, intensive three day on-line auction.

β€’ Efficient Pricing. Exposure to the world’s top domain name buyers ensures visibility and fair market prices.

β€’ No listing fees. Unsold names can be offered again at auction at no additional charge.

β€’ Transparent. Dashboards provide real-time insight into listed, active, and completed auctions.

β€’ Broad exposure. Names are marketed through targeted emails, included in the SnapNames downloadable lists, and in some cases featured on the SnapNames.com homepage!

interesting.
but no listing fees? no 10% sale price fee? where's the catch?
Those bloodsuckers at snapnames must make some money out of this..
Is this a new marketplace or are they including the domains in the same bucket with expiring domains? (i've seen some cvcv.com at $1.5k some days ago in the expiring names list, and thought it might have been something similar)

In order to ensure an efficient transaction, you must first transfer your domains to a SnapNames designated registrar. This facilitates seamless payment and name transfers.

:(

I wonder if Moniker is going to be one of those designated registrars. Why would someone with their name tucked securely away into a moniker account want to transfer to one of Snap's numerous registrars? I remember winning a name through Pool once and had to deal with Namescout.

I don't think we will have many different registrars. snap uses many
for the dropped names because those names were originally dropped
from that registrar.

Here is the email that I finally got from snap!

Thank you for contacting SnapNames about the Portfolio Sellers Beta program! In response to your request please find details below.

Once an agreement is place, here is an overview of the program.

STEP 1: TRANSFER DOMAIN NAMES

Β· Transfer domains to your SnapNames registrar account to facilitate automated collection and transfer once the domain has sold – no manual effort to close a sale

Β· The transfer buys an additional year for the domain life ($6.71 per domain – a minimum of 20 transfers get you started)

STEP 2: SCHEDULE YOUR AUCTIONS

Your dedicated account rep will assist you in listing your domains and finding a reserve price.

STEP 3: MONITOR YOUR AUCTIONS

Your enhanced SnapNames account provides dashboards created specifically for sellers to view scheduled auctions, active auctions, and auction history.

STEP 4: GET PAID

Proceeds from domain sales are available immediately for purchases on the SnapNames.com site, or request a wire transfer or check 30 days after the auction has completed.

If you would like to have the seller agreement emailed to you please let me know – it details the per domain sale commission structure. Also, please feel to contact me directly at 503-459-5224.

We look forward to an opportunity to sell your domains!

One reason that big players use snapnames is that the deal is sure - win the auction and you know the seller is not going to bug out. So Snap wants the name in one of their partner registrars to have control- list it for auction and if the reserve is met then that name is going if the buyer pays.

I think Stargate is one of their partners, I have had names with them for nearly two years and have a good opinion of them, although renewals are $15.

Could someone post Snap's fee schedule and any other requirements?

transferring domains to snap, i don't think so!. does it gains anything for being parked there? i am sure there is a catch somewhere.

I signed up. I already have most of my names at snapnames registrars so transferring is not a problem. I hope this will help me with sales....

I have send my list of 20 domains with expected reserve price to Snapnames.
They reply me soon to say that would "get back to me by Thursday evening"

Hope get some good news soon. I don't think there have any problem to transfer domains to them if my domains are acepted for auction

The main question hasn't been answered, How much commission/fee would they charge if you sold domain through them?

Here is the answer:

Pricing and Commissions: SnapNames will, for each name it has an order for, sell that name and collect the payment from the customer, and then remit that revenue to the Seller, while retaining a commission according to the following schedule:

Minimum Commission of $25
Commission of 20% for sales of $0 to $1,000
Commission of 17.5% for sales of $1,001 to $2,500
Commission of 15% for sales of $2,501 to $10,000
Commission of 12.5% for sales of $10,001 to $50,000
Commission of 10% for sales over $50,000

Charley,

I replied to their original e-mail and they got back to me within a day. Did they send you an e-mail first or did you contact them through their website?
