I love namepros- particularly the way it is so user friendly and welcoming to new domainers. Our auctions here are great to and perfect for the wholesale market we are all a part of.

But I was thinking the other day whether an integrated auction platform could be implemented here, either alongside or intertwined with the forum. No doubt this would be a sizeable task but was wondering whether the idea had been floated before? Pros and cons and the like. Sorry if this has been covered or if I am speaking out of turn- please delete if so...!

Cheers,

That would actually be a great idea.

Setting up an auction platform on a subdomain at auctions.namepros.com . Guess any "off the shelf" auction script will do it ...it's just a matter of integrating the user accounts and matching the forum design me thinks.

Charging listing fees for each auction ($1-$5) would also help Namepros cash flow. Business members can get x number of free auctions each month, the rest will have to pay the listing fee.

The current auction format is a joke ... if you start an auction in 20 minutes your thread is on page 7 so it makes little sense to bother with that.

Namepros has the tech, traffic and financial firepower to do that (not big investment anyway) and with a bit of marketing I can't see why a stand alone NP auctions platform can't develop into a serious competitor for the likes of Flippa.

Just my 2c

I believe auction part of namepros could be improved.. It would be nice to have auctions could countdown itself and we would not have to count it down and bump it daily base..
