I just signed up for Amazon's affiliate prog and got the standard automated email that it will take several days to see if my site is approved, etc. The odd part was they gave me a user id and said i was free to put product links on my site while i'm waiting.

Assuming they deny someone entry, why would they let that person sell things first -- what if sales are made and then someone is denied?

i'm pretty sure i'll be approved being my site is book related, but still.. surprising.

anyone ever sell something and then get denied?

Hmm don't remember something like this might be happening with it.

I had opened account back in 2005 and there was not much or maybe I don't read the welcome emails. The good thing is it is earning money so I assume it was approved :D

If your site is really relevant for their products then you should have no worry in getting approved.
