Hi,

http://www.GoTutorials.com - I have three main copyright notices. The Copyscape button at the top, the CC icon on the side in the gray box, and a plagiarist warning at the bottom.

How much more do I need to keep my content legally safe from copying?

Honestly, You Are never safe.

This may deter users from copying your website, but it certainly will not stop it. If you are really concerned about your website, spend time getting a copyright from http://www.copyright.gov/.

All work done by you is subject to automatic copyright, as long as you can prove that the work is originally yours in the first place

You are good as you are.

Safer than most. You might consider using the good old javascript right click protection thing though. We all know people can get around it by disabling JS, but still, it's worth discouraging them.

I'll look into that. Thanks!

I am also setting up a .htaccess for the flash sound on the homepage (10 KB - protects b/w theft), and the images for the tutorials so they can only be accessed by GoTutorials.com.

How else, other than buying a copyright, can I prove that this is my work?
Thanks.

You're set.

If you can take a backup you can probably present that as proof, as long as it has "last modified" dates earlier than the ones you are saying copied you. And use the meta author tag in your pages too.

Okay. Thanks! ^_^ I'll add the meta tags today.

Legally, you are safe. Practically, you are never safe.

Another tip is to have archive.org archive your pages. It could be used to prove you had certain content posted at a particular point in time.

Additionally, You can register a copy with the Patent and Trademark office for a fee, which would prove beyond a doubt. this does cost money though. See more here:

Disable the View -> source.

That with the anti right-click script would stop 90% of it I'd say.

Wonderful. But I can't disable view -> source?
