Alternatives to X-Cart Shopping Software Script ?

Hello,
Can someone suggest good alternatives to X-Cart Shopping Software Script ?
We are impressed with the Multi Vendor Support in X-Cart, but unluckily X-Cart team is not interested to sell there software to our country (India)

Hence, I am looking for suggestions on good shopping cart software script.
Pricing is secondary here.

Having never used a shopping cart script in my life, I'm probably one of the last web developers you'd want to talk to, but I'm pretty sure a merchant account with PayPal would do what you'd want.

I am not looking for direct/online payment mechanism to be inbuilt into the system @ present, payments will be made by cash,cheque,COD,post, etc.
For online payments we are planning to tie up with service named CCAvenue in India.

but first need a third party shopping solution (multi-vendor)
