Like the .com bubble in the late of 90s , now the .ai bubble is a real peril?

Baidu CEO Robin Li, speaking at the Harvard Business Review's Future of Business conference, predicts that AI is just another bubble, like the dot-com bubble. Ultimately, only 1% of companies will remain afloat in this cutthroat industry.

The beauty of selling domains is that you can take money both from successful and unsuccessful companies, and sometimes even get the domain back in the end.

[edit] Just be sure to exit at the top of the bubble rather than enter. ;)

It's like this in many trending fields. They draw a lot of dreamers.

Recent examples like crypto, blockchain, web3, now AI.

Sure, some companies will be successful but the vast majority will disappear into the wind like a fart.

Either AI is overrated or will become the standard. If becomes the standard, there will no longer be any need to constantly say "AI". It will become superfluous.

To the point where AI starts asking each other whether they still work with humans.

So many stalwart investors raised the red flags on this.. but yet. It's all so cyclical sometimes feel like it's raising children having to repeat the same thing over and over and they finally get it. When they're 18. But it was fun losing money wasn't it?

Unlikely. They'd be much more inclined to neutralise their competition as humans will be rated as inferior, so no threat to their existence.

Competing ai however...

The possibility of an AI bubble is real, much like the dot-com era. The surge in companies and hype could lead to overvaluation. It’ll be crucial to see which companies innovate and sustain relevance.

I see AI as a way of saying fancy algorithm. In terms of domains I do like the fact that AI is just 2 letters.

Lookup.icann.org still works.

We might have to clarify to an extent.

Are we talking about registering AI domains?

I do see a potential buyers remorse on purchasing asinine AI domain names.

or

Are we talking about AI integration into everyday society?

Illinois tollway took a picture of my license plate, tracked me down to where I lived, and sent me a bill.

or

Are we talking about freemium based ChatGPT internet browser technology?

Image generator technology, deep fakes, voice AI, LLM, ect.

I thought Wag the Dog was a movie🤨. Apparently I've taken the Purple pill.
