A friend contacted me via LinkedIn and asked what I think about the AI bubble and .ai domains in 2026. I’m no expert here, I don’t have big .ai sales. So I’m asking you: what do you think 2026 will look like for .ai sales? Will it slow down, or will it be the biggest year ever?
The issue I see is that a lot of people (like my friend) look at those big .ai sales and believe that if they buy a few .ai domains, they can just resell them and get rich quickly. But someone has to tell the truth: those big .ai sales are not about luck (maybe 0.01%), but about patience, investment, and experience.
Maybe the top .ai sellers have 10–20 .ai domain sales per year, but they have huge portfolios. For a beginner, if they invest $1,000 in .ai domains, they will most likely not make any profit at all.
People expect quick profit because they see those big .ai sales, but they don’t realize those domainers have been playing the game for a very long time.
Everyone is talking about the AI bubble, yet nobody registered AIBubble.ai. So maybe the bubble isn’t coming yet?
