Hi,

I just paid for a domain appraisal from Sedo, wasnt that pleased with it to be honest. Would anyone reccomend Afternic as a good appraisal service? Or could someone reccomend a good appraisal service as I would like something in writing when a buyer comes to me.

Thanks

Carl

Well I heard Sedo tends to over price the domains so you might not be too happy with Afternic also. BTW- Most will tell you that domain apprasials are pretty worthless, and its how much (how bad)the buyer wants the name that is what the domain is worth.

Sure, I can make you an unofficial hard-copy paper "certificate" ... what's the domain name? :gl:

Surely more accurate (when combined/averaged with other NPr's honest valuations) IMHO than Sedo's appraisals (based on the one's I have seen in the past). Why weren't you impressed with their appraisal service? How much did you pay for this service? :talk:

I wouldn't pay a dime for domain appraisal services with the exception of allowing a potential buyer to pay for one and then deduct that amount from the final sale of the domain if he/she chooses to buy the domain. My domain appraisals aren't too enlightening and they tend to be overpriced at many places. (who needs to pay $20 to hear that their name has "good" marketability). Sorry for my cynicism on this, but IMO I would post here at the appraisal forum and get people's opinions. You can offer NPs for their advice if you like (which may get more people to appraise for you). After you have about 5 comments, you are going to have a pretty good idea what your domain may be worth.

Often, domains are over-appraised. Arguably just as often, people at NPs giving feedback under-appraise IMO. Nevertheless, it is good to hear from a wide variety of people. Domains are worth more to some and less to others depending on their interests. If you are going through a company for your appraisal, you are really only getting one person's opinion (and normally their appraisals come in too high---they want to make you happy so you will come back for more appraisals).

Best of luck with the domain.
