Hello everyone,

This is the fourth post of the Afternic experiment series after I published January, February and March results which I’m hopeful that some of my readers find it interesting.

Had total 5 sales via Afternic with total $17,826 Gross sales. I consider this a good month but at least couple of things were missing. First, there was no big sale like high 4 figures or any of 5 figures. Secondly, almost no offers came in this month which usually comes via Afternic broker.

Some of the highlights of April 2020 are as below:

There were once again very close to 600 inquiries which includes the inquiries on repeating domains as well. this time I just reached a little over 3,750 domains right at the end of April. This is to note that this was one of the slowest month in terms of acquiring domains.

2 out of 5 sales happened via Afternic cart which includes Cygnini.com for $6,000 and Rebourne.com for 5,000.

AssureRx.com sold for $2,988 and NarrativeContent.com for $950. Both these happened via GoDaddy.

Only one happened via Afternic partner registrar which was Communicator.org sold for $2,888.

Holding period of the above sold domains was from 1 to 6 years. Altogether acquisition cost for these 5 domains was under $800.

On the other hand, one of my fellow domainer friend @JudgeMind who shared his sales of April and with his permission I’m going to share it below for you guys:

Nosepod.com $299
Lumos.ca $899
Aircans.com $799

Although he had a decent last month where he sold a lot more domains in total but not that many via Afternic. Above 3 domain acquisition cost was $38 only!

Feel free to give your feedback and if you like to add your experience with Afternic, feel free to share. Also you may contact me directly if you like your results to be published in my next report post.

Regarding your pricing of the domains sold in April, I see that below $3k names you end the price in" 88" while above $3k you end the price in "00". Any thoughts on that strategy and why?

Many of my domains end with 88 and these 2 domains also had $6,888 and $5,888 BIN but I got offers from Afternic rep that buyers had their max offer of 6K and 5K which I accepted since there wasn't much difference to counter and negotiate further as there is always chance of losing the deal.

dont understand this, you have 600 inquiries for 3750 domains? So how many domains you're having now?

all sales are BIN or offers?

Yes, almost 600 inquiries on 3,750 domains. What's so unclear about it?
Now having almost 3,800 domains.

99% of them are set to BIN.

so there are many domains without inquiry in April? averagely how many inquiries per domain?

your 5 sales in April are BIN or offers?

He's said time and time again BIN

Agree straightforward, best way; BIN, AbdulBasit.com's case-study reaffirms for me.

Abdul would you be surprised if set 100% of your names "Make offer" afternic month?

Bet 0 across. BIN the way to go!!

Definitely many domains without inquiries and from those almost 600 inquiries are on the same domains as well which altogether makes it very close to 600 inquiries in total.

You can take the average easily by these 2 numbers. Total number of domains = 3,750. Total inquiries 600.

All were set to BIN but 3 sold via BIN and 2 domains (Cygnini.com and Rebourne.com) sold through negotiation as both different buyers offered 6K and 5K as their max offer which I accepted.

Nice sales. it motivates people to keep hope in the domaining and not to move in to crypto industry which is highly volatile. If you have quality portfolio with quality names, you always win

Have you calculate your return on investment for your portfolio ?
I had a look on it and many domains are high valued.
Acquisition price + renews would be high.
