you already have it in order ....

.net
.info
.org

but it all depends what the domain is to be used for.

The next two are .net and .org no question, however it depends based on the usage.
While buycomputers.net makes sense, buycomputers.org doesn't. At the same time quitsmoking.org makes more sense than quitsmoking.net

quitsmoking.info makes more sense than quitsmoking.net or even quitsmoking.com so it reallly does depend on the domain name so it is not really possible to say one is better than another but in general terms we can.

.com is always the king though. I would take anything in .com over a .net or .org under any situation. I am not a big fan of .info, the only reason there are so many taken is they are virtually free to register. There have been $0.99 - $1.99 deals all the time on them. If they were regular price you would see way fewer registered .info

.net obviously :)
I'd take .net over .com anyway

I think the .net and .org and about the same. I voted .org becuase I personally feel it is a better TLD. For me the .net just says "I wasn't able to get the .com, so I went with the next one in line." ;)

The best after .com is the .net

You didn't give any options for ccTLD's. .De and .co.uk are better than .org and probably .net. ccTLD's in some countrys like England and Germany are almost as popular as .com. It depends on where your from.

I don't get this reasoning, as it equally applies to .org or .anything. One takes the alternative extensions, why??, because .com is gone! So to say taking .net is because .com is gone, but taking .org 'doesn't' mean that same thing, is somewhat self delusional.

.net is the poor man's .com
.org is the poor man's .net
.info is a last resort

.net is second option. It's almost as good if you can make the "dot net" a part of your website name. .info would be the next option for general websites.

I agree.. (and for keyword availability, let's not overlook "gasp" .ws.. not joking.. WS may not be well known but there are plenty of good keyword domains left in the extension.)

Sort of a split decision between org/net, depending on the name itself. My guess is that:

com >>>> (net/org) > info

Usually I don't have the luxury of picking an extension. I voted .org just to be a contrarian, but like I said, it is sort of tied with .net in some cases. As general rule, I will buy the net unless it is a good org candidate.

.mobi but if i have to pick from that list then .org

you see .org all the time on TV and everywhere. everyone knows what .org is and tons of websites use it. For example Craigslist and Wikipedia are both .org sites. i think its much better than .net unless its for a free poker site. Poker sites always use .com for the real money version and .net for the play money version. If its for non profit stuff or organization stuff then .org for sure. .info is nowhere near .org or .net. .net is the poor mans .com but .org is for a whole different purpose, its not the poor mans .net like mentioned above.

Depends soley on what you mean by "best" -

In order of overall use ? .de isn't mentioned on your list , But it is second only to .com as far as total registrations/use goes ....

In order of resell value ?

... it really depends ... quitsmoking is at one side bad example, at other maybe fine

quitsmoking.info -> perfect for information about that (something like 20 sites about that

quitsmoking.net -> Network of people who are quitting smoking, and maybe write blogs, so to help each other

quitsmoking.org -> Organization / Initiative to stop smoking

quitsmoking.com -> Selling pills / meds to help you quit smoking

So i wouldn't say one is better then other, but it depends on what you want,
and looking at that explanation maybe most money you would get from com ... following by net ... depending on Country(organization) then ORG, and maybe finally Info.

But i have already one .info developed where .com is taken (parked) but .net / .org free ... site is for an small Apartments-House on see, so info make most sense for that one.

I think once you past .com, it depends on the name and type of site that fits.

.net - best for networking, forums and discussion, etc.

.org - best for non-profit or other "organizations".

.info - best for informational sites which can includes sales information for commercial sites.
