Hello to all Web Host suppliers:
In beta right now is a new website: VirtualDN - a domain name market simulation. Registration of fake domains for fake money, but can offer real-world benefits.
On this simulation, members have the ability to develop their virtual domains into simple websites which supports HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Frames, HTTP Redirection, and other client-side coding languages. PHP & MySQL is disallowed for security reasons. Their virtual domain sites are accessed in this format: virtualdn.com/their-domain.com - here's a living example: http://www.VirtualDN.com/Lottery.com
So far this month (Approx. 4 days) it has recieved almost 200 uniques - the site opened only a week ago. It currently has about 60 members and continues to grow.
In order for members' domains to be useful, it would be to the utmost help that their sites run with and support PHP & MySQL.
I am proposing an agreement for a web hosting supplier to allow members at VirtualDN to set virtual nameservers (which will not in any way consume or use real ones) to a certain setting, after which accessing their domain, e.g. virtualdn.com/sample-domain.com, will forward to a special URL on your host's website, e.g. yourhost.com/~username. This would permit users to have BASIC PHP & MySQL support on their domains.
This would require an unusual script that created a small user account on your hosting site each time somebody registered at vDN. Therefore, I request free hosting for vDN members.
Their accounts would require only bare esentials - maybe 2-3 MB of space and 25 MB monthly bandwidth - a very simple Cpanel (or any control panel) that offered them MySQL administration, a simple file manager, and PHP support of course. That's it. No email, no subdomains, no addon domains, no forwarding, no Fantastico, just the basic stuff.
If the user wanted more, we would arrange payments to be made.
So what's in it for you? You'd get free ad space on the site and the forums as permanent links that would surely recieve many clicks and increase your sales.
If any web host supplier would offer this service for free on my part, I would be VERY most appreciative - hopefully it would not use too many resources.
I would also be willing to negotiate this via reply or PM.
Thank you for reading this proposal and hopefully you will consider this offer.
Good day,
-Matt
