Advice on Selling a Domain

I am researching how to sell a specific domain name, as I've never been in this situation before (used to just flipping domains). It's a two word domain that has been registered for a long time (15+ years) and was a popular service at one time, although it's popularity has waned. However, the two words are a phrase that are commonly used by competitors these days to describe their own services. So the question is whether we should approach these people with a specific price in mind, just put a domain for sale sign on the current website, or hire a broker to sell it (or all or some of the above). I am hoping to get somewhere in the range of $x,xxx to $xx,xxx.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I would create content for the domain that concentrated on keywords. Sell the targeted traffic. These once were domains can be revived I gave up on trying to recreate existing sites realizing they need to evolve into the modern day but the longer it is parked the further the traffic drops. Selling domains for high $x,xxx+ your retail figure is only going to happen by you being contacted through the site. Every domain market is other wholesalers like yourself. You have 2 options email and create the site. Tips try the same keywords for a username on twitter, facebook etc or suggest sell to the user that has it also.
