I have read in this forum someone saying that you cannot put adult content on (dot)US names. Is this true? and if so what if it is parked at say S*do with adult links and pictures?

My understanding is that the domain name should not contain one of the 7 'dirty words' or Neustar could put the domain on hold forever. As for actual contents I don't believe there are any restrictions.
