adsense.com isn't even owned by Google. That's strange.
They are a separate company. I wonder if they would have a case against Google even though they didn't trademark it?

--this was posted on another forum and, naturally, got over-moderated right off the board by the soup-nazis, after an interesting discussion.

Your only figuring this out now? :hehe:

Adsense.com was well online before Google Adsense was even created so therefore there are no problems. "Google Adsense" not just "Adsense".

Yeah, adsense.com was actually registered 6 years before Google launched it's Adsense program. According to whois.sc: Created:1997-02-23, and Google's Adsense started in 2003. (http://www.google.com/corporate/history.html)

They have a nice alexa ranking. Wonder why they don't put adsense on there. They would make bucks even with just the referral button.

If I had that domain I would do exactly that..

You could make some nice money with that

It's so true though. "Do not evil", what a laugh.

Yeah I think thats already been established from the start of the thread.

Does seem a waste not to be benefitting from it though. They must feel hard done by that thier name got used, but instead of sitting n doing nothing they should be taking advantage of it either through google adsense referring people or just setting up a seperate scheme!?

Anyway.. its been long enough, they would've done it by now had they wanted.

Yeah, Google is so harsh with trademarks and then they go and take the term Adsense from somewhere else. Of course... they claim that it is "Google Adsense" and does not infringe any trademarks.

Google only uses the term Adsense ... they dont have to register adsense.com for that and i guess adsense.com was even before google adsense arrived.
