Hello

If I was to register a domain of jacksonvilledentists.com (since jacksonvilledentist.com has already been registered) would I be infringing on any trademark or copyright issues?

I've done a search at uspto.gov to see if either domain was trademarked, and didn't find any issues.

It would appear that a city + a trade or business wouldn't be something that could be trademarked since but I read this from another domainer in another forum.

Thanks in advance

If it's not a trademark and it's a generic term it should not be an issue.

I think the only thing you might run into is that the s makes people think of multiple dentists - as in a listing or a directory of dentists, instead of just the one dentist they're looking for. That can be a problem with some occupational domains, but since dentists sometimes share an office, the plural could work in that case.

Generic term - you should be fine.

Are you in Jax Fl?
