advice How to reach to an existing market

Hi there,

I have the domain slorps on com/net/org/info/xyz - since I wanted to create a strong presence.
The domain already is developed ( do not know if that will be the final form of the website ).

The word slorps refers to sneakers and was used by Chandler in the series Friends.
People already use this in social media as #slorps (exactly the word in my domain) on Instagram and Twitter. Pictures from Instagram are actually being pulled on the website right now.

How to reach on an existing market? I do not have experience with this.

Just have to keep networking. If you're into gorilla marketing, you can do some forum posting, yahoo answers, and of course as many social networks as you can handle.

There's always adwords or fb ads. I think FB ads would be a better bet. You could also possibly create an affiliate program.

One thing that also works are videos. If you could make a YouTube channel and start posting videos, it could make you viral right away.

Make some banners and maybe do some banner exchanges with shoe outlets.

I could go on, but if you're one person, these things will take some time.

By the way, great idea. Not sure if anyone else is doing it but I could see your concept being picked up by any one of the major shoe brands. Kind of cool to share photos of your shoes.

I work in an office, but my best friends work with their hands (plumbers, contractors etc). When we meet for beers or to practice pool (we play on a billiards team together), we always tease about my nice shoes versus their dirty work boots. We've actually taken photos and posted on FB from time to time. Funny as heck.

Ok, I made up my mind what I do with the domain

- On slorps.com - I am starting a shop on shopify with custom printed shoes.
- On slorps.net - Will be the support forums for slorps.com
- On slorps.info - Will have the #slorps pictures pulled from instagram.

Dunno what .org and .xyz will have on them yet, but will see in the near future.
