I'm addicted to coming up with names/catchy little turns of phrase and I get URLs to remember them... I now have 300+
Gotta pay for my hobby, haha!

So I put things up on afternic: afternic profile/goodnameyo
curious what people think of my list :)

1. Stop registering right now till you make some sales.
2. If you don't make any sale (likely to happen seeing your list), think about it and change your strategy.
3. Stick to .com
4. Do not go for misspelled names.
5. Stop registering till you realize what I have said, or you gona go broke in a jiffy.

Likely a good idea. I think my names are about 40% .coms
And my worst case scenario is at their end of life put them up for auction. Probably will break even? Thatโ€™s the dream at least

Meaningful 2 word .coms is the way to go. But you have to get them at auctions. Unlikely to find anything valuable for free to hand register.

But who knows, maybe you found a gem on that list and you get a sale on Afternic... anyway I would stop hand registering for now(y)

Okay...you have to stop buying names (at least until you make a sale). Spend lots of time here reading and learning.

Even with a 'good' portfolio, you can only expect to sell 1.5 to 3% of names a year.

My second year I let over half of the names I registered drop...it should have been more. Don't get discouraged, just learn from any mistakes.

In the last 2 weeks I dropped dozens of names I've held for 5+ years...they stunk when I got them and the smell got worse. Trying to auction bad names is a waste of time...best of luck to you.

Zero chance of this happening.

Slow down. Learn before spending and more money.

Love the honesty here, thanks yall! Lots of these are for my own silly side projects, probably good to forward at least half of them to things I'm working on then if sales are unlikely

Careful, domaining is very addicting, and it can make you do dumb decisions.

Going through the first few pages, what is "nur", and you are over-valuing poetry (i made website for someone who authored many poetry books once, and she laughed at me thinking she had money...only your friends and family buy the books, mostly).

Welcome.

Not sure if it qualifies addicted to naming, if it is just bunch of new gtlds there. Not many creative or brandable names out of the bunch.

Other comments:

- what is the point of pricing those in $xx,xxx for most? You are lucky if any sells for $2k-3k range. I suggest you reprice the names, as well as add pricing to the ones missing it.

- word+word or other brandables might make sense for .com, but in other extensions their chance of selling is close to zero.

- what will be the point of redirecting those names? For developing, you probably can have a better option for a specific idea through handreg, closeout, auction etc. For traffic? Do you expect your traffic to be able to offset your $3k+/year in renewals? You are probably better off buying ads on FB, X, YT etc.

- Make sure you turn of auto-renew and stop buying until you learn more. Out of the bunch there might be 10-20 keepers, there rest should be dropped upon renewal time.

You'll begin to lose that addiction about 365 days after hand regging a bunch of useless domains when renewals are staring you in the face. Learn before you reg or buy.
