what are your thoughts on them?

i just bought byoc.info and plan on making it into a site based on building your own computer. was i smart to go with an acronym domain, do you think i will see success or will it probably be a dud :( lol

i am guessing it depends on the acronym but in general, are acronym domains good?

It would depend upon the acronym, as you said. A good acronym would most certainly make a good domain since American Lazy Bums Coporation can be found at ALBC.com instead of AmericanLazyBumsCoporation.com. It comes down to the brandability factor. Obviously you wouldn't want people to try and remember hbxhxxh.com or something of that nature, but a good short acronym is never bad.

That's why you see 2,3 and 4 letter .com's in such high demand along with 2 and 3 letters of other extensions. Pronounceable acronyms are even better.

Acronyms are certainly worthwhile use www.acronymfinder.com to find out how many relate to the domain you want to register.

Yes. All three letters are gone. I believe another plus is it helps avoid many TM issues.
