Hi, If a company has a trademark on "abc" acronym, will they have any rights on 4 LLLL acronym formed with "abc". For ex, new acronyms: abcx, abct, abcu, gabc etc ... all these are acronyms for different words and different meaning and i don't even park any of these domains.

It depends on usage.

If you have the domain parked and it shows products for "ABC's" site, then you could lose the domain through UDRP.

As long as you're not infringing on someone's TM, you should be okay.

Or those of competitors, or if trying to sell the domain directly to the trademark holder.

Goes to show things (unfortunately) aren't always as simple as we want them to be. And in case someone else asks, yes, even an acronym can become a trademark. (e.g. IBM, WB, WHO, etc.)

Thx Ms Domainer and Dave Zan.

Guess every LL acronym will be there in LLL acronym and every LL & LLL will be there in LLLL etc ... SO there should not be any problem 1) If i did not park my domain 2) or sell it directly to one who has trademark 3) If i developed a website in all together different domain (Lets say they are in Jewelry domain, then i wil go for foods products).
