Hello,

I have backordered one domain via snapnames.com and today I have received and email message "Congratulations! You have successfully acquired the domain name". There was written: "... The domain is now registered to you. The registrar now managing your registration is DomainTheNet. To make changes at the registrar use the following Account ID: ". So I went to DomainTheNet.com and tried to login using the username and password which was provided in this email message. But I got error message "Wrong username or password".

Am I missing something here? Have you had the same problem before?

Hmmmm... There is nothing we can do here to help you, Your best bet would be to contact the domain provider and make a complaint! Good Luck With That :talk:

Try contacting the Domain prodider and asking for support.

Sometimes there is a delay between the time you get a backorder and the time your account is set up with a registrar. I wouldn't worry about it unless it has been more than 24 hours since you won.

The ones I have got from snapnames do take 24 - once you get an email from snapnames it takes a day to get an email from the company registered with which will have loggin details for domain.

( I am assuming you may have tried to put your snapname id in instead ?)

The other thing to do in 24 hrs is to check the whois record to make sure it is in your name.

You are right, I was able to login next day. Anyway, I had many problems with DomainTheNet, their scripts seems to have many errors, I was not able to change domain dns, but at least they changed it after I wrote to support.

Thanks for your input guys.

Wait 24 - 48 hours and if nothing happens by then i suggest you contact the administrator that sold you your domain.

It depends on where will you backorder it and which company will be the first to catch it.

This happens to me all the time (eaven 2-3 days after).
If the password reminder of the registrar does not work, here is my solution.
The quickest way I figured out to get acess, is mailing the backorder site (Pool/Snapnames, etc..) telling them this, and asking for help.
They do then the work for you.
This works quite well, and educates the 1st and 2nd tier in this game ;)
