Did you accept the Terms of Service? If so, if you refresh, you will see AdSense ads after the two private ads cycle.

I accepted the ToS and tried refreshing. No ads in FireFox or Internet Explorer.

Hmm. That's really strange. Try using http://www.abrowse.com/static/info.html and see if there are ads there.

That is a very nice site indeed, certainly one of the best proxy sites I have seen recently. I love the simple design, and the editable options list is excellent
