My prices depend on what name it is? how much I paid for it? How long i have had it? How many offers I have had for it? Who the end-user is? How deep are their pockets?

This is not a get rick quick game. You have to spend a lot of time learning in the industry. This is the main mistake all new domainers make when starting out. The best advice is read, read and read some more. Buy 1 or 2 names and make sure you sell them before buying anymore. Most domainers buy 25, 50 or even 100s of names thinking they will sell them all, the shock comes in 12 months time when you have renew them all and you realise you havent even sold one name yet.

You have to realize the average passive sell through rate is about 1%-2% a year. Which means for every 100 domains you would sell about 1 to 2 at reasonable end user prices.

If you want higher numbers than that you either need great domains priced very reasonably or to make the sales proactively. Even proactively the sell through rate is low.

The issue is you need realistic expectations. It is usual to hand register a domain and not be able to sell it. Selling it for a serious profit is the rarity.
