One domain has just dropped, but been picked up by a professional domain service company. Here is the message that my current domain agent sent to me.

"we recommend you keep this domain on backorder until 3/13/2009. The current owner may be testing it for monetizaion purposes and has five days after the create date to test the domain before cancelling it for a refund."

Does it mean that the registrar probably will throw it away in 5 days?

Many people are indeed tasting domain names (checking if there is a lot of traffic, etc.) - and many tasted domains are released after 5 days, although you can never be sure.

But I have got several domain names this way, so the advice is wise: keep it on backorder for a week, and see if you are lucky.
