They are very easy to remember, but not practical. The numeric one is better because it only contains 10 characters (digits) and they are right next to each other, but the alphabet one is a nightmare - no one is only to spend the time typing it on their browser.

Nevertheless, they can be used on web adveristment or email where people can just click the link.

IMHO,
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.eu = low $xx to mid $xx.
0123456789.eu = low $xx to high$xx.
