By the time I get done messing with my godaddy account i will be bald from pulling out all my hair!!:'( The latest problem is they are having trouble with name server changes right now. you go to change your name server on a domain and nothing happens. I called them up and they told me at first it takes 24 hours to propigate! (No kidding??? >:( ) The problem is not propigation the changes are taking much longer because godaddy says it has higher traffic than usual after the superBowl.

I dont have time for this crap! I am right in the middle of moving to a new host i need my name servers Changed!!:'(

Just FYI, the propagation is not only affected by GD's side, your ISP is involved too. Some ISP's grab changes to ns faster than others.

once my name took long for my computer, but it was updated in the proxy

so what i did was flush my dns cache to update it for my computer

you should try the domain on proxy and if the ns are updated then do the steps below

go to run >> type cmd >> ipconfig/flushdns

Well Godaddy has fixed the control panel issue. I am now able to change my name servers. This was never a propigation issue it was a control panel issue. I don't know how to make that more clear.

Glad to hear it got fixed. It's a shame they gave you the run around.

GoDaddy is weird at times. Last week, I changed nameservers for a domain. Then a few hours later, I changed nameservers for another domain and it was changed instantly. I had to wait till the next night for the first domain that I changed nameservers for.

Control panel issues aside, when you change nameservers on a domain there is no longer a 24 hours propagation period. Changes should be nearly instant, and if you still see your old website its usually a result of DNS caching on your local computer or at your ISP.

Very true -RJ- we are no longer in the dark ages of 2000 lol.. it used to take 24-48 hours in those day. With a .com now it is almost instant. I dont know why it is taking so long for other members here to get their names propigated. Although if you are moving sites to a new server their are a couple of tricks to make invisible to the regular surfer to your site.

I do have to say though it still takes about 24 hours for .tv and .cc to propigate.

Just remember that the registrar is the starting point when making any domain
name record changes, especially DNS. Apparently GD's control panel that time
wasn't allowing any changes to be submitted until they finally got around to
fix it.

They probably realized there was a problem if lots of people complained about
the same thing.
