A simple question I've never rec'd a simple answer to

Okay, obviously for resale, parking, developing into useable site, etc, generics are king. Cars.com is a fantastic domain.

However, for development of non-type-in traffic, what makes cars.com any better than xxcarsxx.com or something. It still has the keyword...

Do SEs like pure generic domain titles better than those with extra letters or words?

The pure word gets priority in seo listings, and many times extra letters do well, content aside. However content still rules. type in any phrase and see the reults many of the top listed names have the exact name in the domain plus other letters/words, if google can decipher it. google may not make the association dccarsx as having anything to do with cars
