So much talk lately that the industry is dying slowly - people are beginning to fear the fall of a fantastic industry, when there's still a new thriving industry that is yet to come :-,

There's no way that this industry is dying - it's just getting started! :cigar: This, right now, it's a new generation of domaining coming into the picture (y)

The concept of 'Domaining' used to be build on a monopoly strategy - it was about acquiring a good premium name (or as many as you could get) and hold onto them until a few years or so pass and the names ultimately become valuable and in demand, and then sell for return on investment.
Which is cool :xf.rolleyes: It was a good system; it worked very well for a lot of the older generation in the industry. It means that today all premium names are taken, and that that monopoly system doesn't really work anymore. It's virtually impossible to find a premium name for registration fee to sell years down for millions :xf.grin:

But! The industry has grown so much since then! You can't look at it that way anymore, you cant expect to use a strategy that has been around since the beginning of domaining years later when the industry is no longer what it used to be - it's much more about just holding a name now; it's something newer. It's about holding a webspace with the potential to thrive into a huge business. Domain names provide more than just a name, they provide a platform, a ground to create a business that has the potential to grow into a huge revenue streaming online space.

It's about creating a vision for future for the domain name that you hold. :-, And if you have the funds to execute that vision and turn it into a profitable business, then by all means do so :-, And if not, then it's about selling that vision to another investor within the niche :-, Domains represent business', not just domain names.

Time will always catch up with industries and industries will always grow and change - it's just up to us as entrepreneurs to grow with the industry :cigar: And not to bloody fear the change and mistake it for the industry dying! :xf.grin: It's us, it's us as a whole that keep the industry afloat and alive and pumping, it's up to us to stay ontop of the industry and not to start to doubt it now when it's only just getting started! It will turn from selling simply names to selling thriving business', occupying a name.

Acquire a webspace that you see has value and will rise in value based on trends and innovations in the world, and create a vision for it. Then brand it, market it, build it, SEO it, create a passive income stream. If you don't have the funds, then simply sell the vision. If you don't have the knowledge, then educate educate educate yourself! If you don't have the time, hire somebody who does :-, and once the business is on its feet, then you can sell it on to an investor or end user. :cigar:

It's all about giving value to a name, and sharing that vision for value with those who will see and appreciate it. And it's not particularly easy - it takes time, energy, money to invest in, but so does every successful business :xf.smile: If it's something that you're wiling to invest in, then it's something that will have the potential to succeed. And yes, there are MANY domainers these days, but that doesn't matter. Its skill and knowledge and most of all COMMITMENT that will distinguish the best and those who will succeed, from those who will just want to dip their toes in the water. Anybody can succeed, it's just about setting your mind to it.

I personally still believe in domaining (y) For me there's nothing better than waking up in the morning, making a nice warm green tea, and sitting down to work on my craft :-, I believe that the future of the world is online. The internet is a platform to go global, to get seen everywhere, to spread your wings across literally the whole world, and its something that will only grow :xf.wink:

The start of the industry has been shaped and defined, and as time comes, the new generation of domaining follows, and it will leave spots for new rising entrepreneurs to take the lead of redefining the industry further :-, It's just a matter of who is willing to work hard enough to take that lead position - there is still a lot of money to be made so don't begin to give up now people (y)

Alright I'm off to cinema to watch the new 'It' movie, thanks for reading people and peace out to all :cigar:

Best,
Vlad

(Sorry if there's mistakes I haven't proof read this, I'm going to be so damn late for the movie if I don't leave now:xf.grin:)

If everyone succeeded at domaining then it would require no skills.
Those saying it is dead are just over run with renewals and haven't managed their time.
