  1. Look At Drop List
  2. Find Decentish Name
  3. See if Domain is Listed on Afternic or BuyDomains
  4. Inquire Into Name

Wait while broker tracks down old owner. Watch old owner re-register name. Wait 5 days. Say you're not interested.

This is the cynical alternative to what others do

  1. Find Listed Name/Auctioning name
  2. Offer To Sell It People for More
  3. Accept Offer
  4. Buy Name for Less
  5. Pocket Difference

*Not recommending these but offering them up as a source of thinking

Sorry to be such a buzzkill, but that would be wrong and only continue the Bad Domaining Karma Circle Jerk™
(I believe MG owns that ™ : )

why not try this game? - find a decent name buy for $1000, no takers, buy the next $1000, boom - no takers, 3rd - again $1000, no takers. IN a month you get an inquiry - and sell one for $10k

....or not

You're not being a buzzkill... you missed the snark.

A) Clean up your sales forums when your names drop
B) Don't be a scumbag

But that's ok. I was being deliberately obtuse :)
Hope you're doing well.

J.

I caught it J. I was addressing those Fkrs that may have had a light-bulb go off or were engaging in said acts.

Doing great!

People like you are the ones ruining the industry. Just like many "buyers" making offers for fun these days!

Please explain how I'm ruining the domain industry.

Because you are making people waste time. If you want the domain on that case, at least try to contact the old owner directly instead and leave the broker alone!

You apparently missed the point.

I'm saying:

A) Clean up your sales forums when your names drop
B) Don't front run like many "legends" do

You know how many dropped names are listed at Sedo/Afternic?

I don't either, by the way.

This "game" was my way of expressing how annoying these people are.

And so you end up acquiring the domain directly with owner? Or you are just playing? I am one of the ones that deletes them from marketplaces once I drop them but many people don't. Who wants to waste time on that? I sometimes leave a few behind.

Also I know some people who leave them on purpose on sedo and other marketplaces even when dropped. Because if sold, they will do everything possible to recover it or even contact the new owner! Also when someone lists on sedo, the domain gets removed if it's on another account and that person isn't the owner anymore. But I got your point now...
