Two years back I won an auction at Snapnames for a domain, it's now expired for about an year but somehow it didn't drop, is with the same snapnames registrar and continues to show my contact info on the WHOIS. Although it's not in my account at that registrar.
It's not listed at any marketplace except GD where I got an offer of $1000 from a GoDaddy broker. I find the .NET registered fresh 7 days back. I estimate the 5-7 letter name at about $3500-$5000.
Can Snapnames restore the domain to my account for a small fee? I have written to them. If they don't, I am thinking of offering alternative names. Any way to know who the buyer could be?
Has anything like that happened to you? What's your story?
Previously I have lost 2 good sales because of letting ordinary domains expire.
