Catch-22: Broker offer for my long-expired domain

Two years back I won an auction at Snapnames for a domain, it's now expired for about an year but somehow it didn't drop, is with the same snapnames registrar and continues to show my contact info on the WHOIS. Although it's not in my account at that registrar.

It's not listed at any marketplace except GD where I got an offer of $1000 from a GoDaddy broker. I find the .NET registered fresh 7 days back. I estimate the 5-7 letter name at about $3500-$5000.

Can Snapnames restore the domain to my account for a small fee? I have written to them. If they don't, I am thinking of offering alternative names. Any way to know who the buyer could be?

Has anything like that happened to you? What's your story? :)

Previously I have lost 2 good sales because of letting ordinary domains expire.

It expired a year ago? I don't think you're getting it back without an auction.

Well not quite exactly the same. But similar. I won a domain in a SnapNames Auction, last year but less than a year ago. It has my whois info, but it isn't in my NetSol account and I haven't resold it. I'm still waiting (a week) for my ticket to be answered. TBH. I'm expecting they will push it to my NetSol A/C.

How is it your domain is not in your account? Who paid for the renewal?

I checked this domain a few month ago.. if it was available, I would have bought it.

Previously also, I was the sole bidder ($69).
And it's not listed anywhere, not even on Snapnames.

That domain is rightfully yours since there is time to expiry.
But in my case, I can login to subregistrar of snapnames but it doesn't show the domain. And it's with the same registrar.

Strange as it is, other than my contact info, the WHOIS shows this:

Expires On 2016-12-31
Updated On 2017-11-04

How is EXPIRY date shorter than UPDATED date?

I have one domain like this. In my case it was suspended by the registrar because it was under a court case with many other domains for trademark infringement. (before I even bought the domain). I thought it made a pretty good non-specific brandable name. Unluckily for me it seems I was kinda right :( The domain sits in my account year after year. Like some kind of ugly reminder. So you might be well advised to steer clear of that particular domain.
