This is one of the first domains I ever checked for availability, and it's been taken for ages. Just go to the website http://www.milk.com. Content is pretty much unchanged since it was registered. What do you think of the guy's BIN? (Not for Sale link)...

Interesting read. Seems like he has good justification for wanting that much for the name. It's defintely a VERY premium name.

That is a lot for a domain name, but it is a really good one. If you think about it, it is much easier to remember milk.com than something that is a lot longer.

I actually emailed him not too long ago about this and sure enough he wanted $10 million for it.

Well i would probably too if i had a domain name that i didn't want to get rid of.

However this guy really should improve his site. If he put more on it and gave it a better design and everything he could make a lot of money off the site.

They did a good job with the ads - got milk.com and i bet they did'nt spend anywhere near 1 mill on marketing (and probably $8.00 on the domain ! )

10 million for this Name
Well he should really milk it for its value
but he will be waiting until the cows come home to expect any cream from this sale. He should really skim as much profit from it as he can get.
If he does sell for his asking price ,he can say cheese to all the Photographers.
Allthough his site is bad ,I really have a beef about the design

If he improved his design he would get a lot more visitors to his site. Then it might really be worth the 10 million for somebody to buy it, although he would probably increase his asking price.

the name alone is of great value -- site content / visitors aren't important with a URL such as this. besides, it doesn't appear that he is actively trying to sell or solicit bids.

Omg... what kind of website is that to waste a rare domain like milk.com..

If he is holding out for 10 million then expect to see that site there forever.

He's been having fun with it for the last 11 years, actually.

And he's never done any visible effort to monetize the traffic, since I remember.

That 2001 appraisal would probably contain a couple less decimal points if done now as well. No doubt it's a very valuable domain, but I don't see the one or two potential customers he's counting on cutting their ad budgets by 10 million just for a domain name. Before seach engines improved and when all traffic was type-in or promotion based, maybe....but not any more.
