.tv A different and cheap way to play GEO .tv

Now let me say I am not recommending these as outright bargains but I think it an interesting discussion. Everyone knows that a country.tv was a min $500 to $100,000 premium at Verisign. Some would also say that using channel is redundant (some think so, some don't) So this strategy could be looked at as redundant or could be championed by others as a cost effective way to get the GEO they want.

Some may say you want Country.tv the countrytv.tv does not flow as well and that true. Some say the same for ******Channel.tv the channel is not needed because people think it a channel just with the *******.tv So different opinions on this type but for $20 might get you the GEO you want

Maybe I'm missing something and as you all know I wish you and all of us the best of luck with the .tv extension, but IMO (and I hope I am wrong) this is not a bandwagon worth jumping on. Even if you develop pokertv. tv, I think you will just bring more traffic to poker. tv.

Like I said, never liked the redundant tv.tv thing, but with the keyword "poker" felt it was worth a reg @ $20. I completely agree with you. I have no plans to develop, but in the month I've had it parked it's made almost $9.00...

Personally I will take a top keyword or country tv.tv over a majority of the regs I see here day in and day out. The reason why it was smart to reg THAILANDTV.tv for millers was that plenty of companies would reg the tv.tv rather than pay Millers a premium. And by Now POKERtv.tv has more than paid the reg fee for WESTBLOCK. SKG got Gamestv.tv Games.tv will have a reg fee of $100,000 when premiums open so someone may offer SKG a lot more than the $20 he paid for it but a lot less than $100,000

agree totally.......for those who disagree - here is an interesting stat.......try to reg TXTV.TV or AZTV .TV or MATV.TV...how about FLTV.TV or NYTV.TV.....KTTV.TV? I think of all the states - there are currently maybe five that are unregged.................because these are perfect names for TV stations from the states that are in the initals.......will they be resold for tens of thousands of dollars??? Probably not - maybe for the big hitters like AZ,CA,TX and NY - (I have some myself including FLTV, MATV, COTV, NJTV, DCTV, ILTV) but do I think I will be able to sell each and every one of mine for more than $20.00 - I think so..

Now quick guys....go hunt the rest down!!! :o


I also have to agree with Equity......and please excuse any hint of arrogance here - it is just my opinio, and recognition from when I started regging myself - and of course I still make mistaes.......but definately top keyword TV.TV regges recently have definately outshone .TV regges posted here by at least 10/1..........

Oh no Dottie that's cool I am glad you regged those shows the idea was right on. Well just now doing some research I have been following for awhile that EroticAmerica.tv kept talking about a new show called Wet tv they never contacted Lance or I about Wet.tv they just went and regged WETTV.tv showing that plenty will avoid premiums and having variations of your Premium makes sense.

Just saw this post and checked to see if geotv.tv was avail and it was not but it showed LondonTV.tv as being available and it is gone in almost all other major TLD's. It must have been a recent drop because cities of this caliber in the tv.tv format are gone so I grabbed it. Only my second city name using this convention.

This leads me to a question. Would you say that xxxTV.TV is second to xxxTV.COM strictly speaking using the xxxTV convention with other extensions. Seems so even though it is redundant I would rather have xxxTV.TV then xxxTV.INFO xxxxTV.BIZ now maybe in some cases xxxxTV.MOBI would be better, I guess it depends on the content.

i like tv.tv - i see it this way, and i may be wearing rose colored glasses, only time will tell-

* i like saying tv.tv- i actually think the redundancy of it helps bore "tv" into peoples heads- i like saying keywordTV- whether it be .com or .tv, because you can say, "hey, FashionTV is the hottest fashion site around- visit FashionTV DOT TV. noone ever says visit fashion- they have to say fashion.com or .net or .biz- but i just like the sound of the actual name before the dot having a tv in there- it denotes already what the sites content is- and to me saying tv.tv just further embeds the brand- could be wrong, but this is in dotties world

* most sites visitied are clicked in/bookmarked, via link- yeah, fashiontv.tv might lose traffic to fashion.tv or even .com on the type in- but hey, there is only ONE fashion.com, and the world didnt stop when it was taken- i think branding any name beyond the core generic is neccesary no matter it be fashion.tv or fashiontv.tv- it always boils down to who goes beyond aiting for the typ ins- if that were the case, sites like orkut, (orcut) hi5 (highfive), xanga (zanga) and flickr (flicker) would not be in alexas top 50.

* i already know and understand these are not million dollar names thus, i am not looking for a million dollars- it is just anothe tier in my pricing schedule- if i bought a name for 20 bucks, and i sell it for 300.00, i am happy if i had it within that tier group- do i think people will be able to develop ChiliTV.tv - heck yeah, in a heartbeat

Well I have to admit I am always an early adopter of any potential investment, especially when most are against or weary of such investments. It leaves lots of opportunity ripe for the taking. I have picked up at least 20 TV.TV names over the last 6 months. I have sold 3 so far. Not for alot though. I did see you sold one Equity! Thats cool!

Not bad at all... of course tv.tv works for more than Geo's. I agree with Smash... tv.tv is 'one less thing' to remember... and the next best thing to the keyword domain, w/ extension, in the memory branding dept. -- Map.TV = Map & TV. .... MapTV.TV = Map & TV (whereas MapTV.com = Map+TV+com)... "One less thing!" (Forrest Gump)

Yeah... MapTV.TV is mine - along with CamTV.TV and others.
