Ok,
So I am actually a really crazy guy who perpetually designs websites and makes to the point that they are automated. It auto updates itself and I just leave it alone. I make good money from doing this. I have done this on all sites that I have.

Now I am the type of person, if you ask me directly a question that you feel stuck on. I'll give you as much help until I feel that I am being manipulated or drained of time.

How many people actually do this?

How many people would want this? I just recently tested my newer version of auto updates from various sites, left it alone for 2 weeks. I wanted to see if it would pick up. I only focused on one other authority site.

My earnings I feel just doubled and it seems to be running smooth as can be plus my rankings have continued upward.

Now I am also a man of making money regardless of what the niche is, my frustration when I hear people telling me they want to buy websites that have this, this and that on it. 99% of the time, the markets they want are oversaturated and it feels like they are wanting to just give money away.

Are there any people like this out there that understand what I am saying?

I just feel all alone because it would be awesome to talk to people who are like minded in the sense that they see dollar signs when a not so popular niche is being presented to them. Not that they aren't interested in your site because they think it has no potential.

I know when selling a website, you have to be somewhat of a sales person but what do you do when you have a site that is completely automated and makes great money but they say they aren't interested in it because they know nothing about the niche....?

Automation...
Automation...
Automation...

Isn't that the key that everyone who wants a website wants? More automation means more play time, right?

Just a suggestion, but I think you could make much more money with this type of software if you were to license it and allow people to use it on X number of sites based on a certain membership/license.

I haven't seen your software and don't really know if this is even possible, but would recommend that you take a look at www.whypark.com as an example of a possible way to sell your software. There's alot more money to be made (and less work for you) setting it up this way.

Anything is possible, Reece..

I would love to sell it but when I try to offer it to others thats already implemented in the sites. They just don't seem to get it. I am not the greatest sales guy I guess. I will be looking into the site you linked.

What it basically does is goes out and searches the site that you have RSS'd than it pulls the content from there, auto posts it to your blog with all your settings. You can have 3-25 posts in a day. All having links out, some linking in. I have built my backlinks this way, fast, good traffic and yeah..

Just being a serious nerd...

Automation? I prefer working on unique content, rather than automating a site with loads of duplicate content that search engines dislike. The trend is that search engines will pay more and more attention to duplicate content, and will label them as spam sites (they are already rated like that in their quality rater guidelines).

So while automation may bring in some revenue in the short term, I do not see it to survive on the long term.

I beg to differ, search engines don't dislike that, because if that was the case, every site that generated or talked about the news would be hated as well...

Google even talks about it on their blog...Duplicate Content

During our crawling and when serving search results, we try hard to index and show pages with distinct information. This filtering means, for instance, that if your site has articles in "regular" and "printer" versions and neither set is blocked in robots.txt or via a noindex meta tag, we'll choose one version to list. In the rare cases in which we perceive that duplicate content may be shown with intent to manipulate our rankings and deceive our users, we'll also make appropriate adjustments in the indexing and ranking of the sites involved. However, we prefer to focus on filtering rather than ranking adjustments ... so in the vast majority of cases, the worst thing that'll befall webmasters is to see the "less desired" version of a page shown in our index.

But yes, it is all in preference :) Maintaining a blog can be hard esp. if you going through a stump..

Comes in handy..

Nice !

How does the content get auto generated. Does it pick feeds from sites ? I really don't know much about this stuff.

There are some software like this on the market (though I am not a fan of them): HyperVRE, Site Builder Elite just to name a few. Check out those two too.

But basically even some duplicate content is allowed by G, there are some guideines.

Lyrics, quotes, poems etc are not penalized. A site can have 100% duplicate content like this.

Regarding news, reviews etc, if a site has 100% duplicate content it is considered spam. If duplicate content is removed and there is nothing else on the site remaining (other than ads or affiliate links) than the site is considered spam.
However it takes some time for Google to identify these sites, and for MSN it takes much much longer from what I've heard.

There is no software that is like mine, Alex.

I have checked.

Those are based off getting feeds into your site but as excerpts. Mine takes the full article, slaps it in there. Puts the author, SEO optimizes it, I also have the ability to choose what I am looking for exactly. I could have the topic pinpointed to absolute T. It also scans pictures that I can pick out that are related to my keywords.

As far as Google's duplicate content, well..
It's all there about their thoughts on it.

This sounds nice. Replicate it with many sites then. Anyway now, max the big G does is deindexing the sites, so you've got nothing to loose.
Good luck.

I'm also interested but I have to admit I'm fairly new to this.
I have done up some sites for friends etc.
But nothing to generate income for myself.

I think I have some strong domain names and would be interested to give the software a go.

Would be curious to see a sample of it in action either posted here or via PM. If I like what I see then I'd be interested in working something out as well.

Let me know!

Thanks.

Hey everyone! I am going to set up a demo but those that after you see it want to use it on a long term basis. I'll set up some sort of payment with you. I don't want this sold so if we end up working together, agreements must be made.

So, I get a trial for this to try on my domains, isn't it ? Also, suppose I have a forex name, will feeds be based on forex and updated daily ?
