I just learned that you can't register 2 character orgs the hard way. I went to GoDaddy and EV1 and both wouldn't let me register 75.org even though it was available. So then I went to Register.com, signed up and ordered it there. Now I find out that 2 character orgs are reserved and when they drop, they can't be registered again. I found this by doing a whois at pir.org.

The rule for .ORG changed around Feb/March of 2003 when they started retiring them. There is no such rule that applies to .NET and .COM right now.

These are 24 two char .orgs that are gone.

wouldnt this just make the value of 2 char .orgs go up because there are now less number of them.

IT should do indeed. I've had a reasonable offer for my 2 char .org...

Still hesitant in selling it tho.
