$7 .CN Domains - Where to Find

The annual price of China's primary domain name 'cn' has fallen from 120 yuan (US$15) to 56 yuan (US$7), Beijing-based The First reported on Monday.

The huge popularity of the 'cn' domain name is the reason for the price reduction. The report, quoting experts in the field, said 'cn' was the first domain name choice for terminal users. The number of 'cn' users climbed above 1 million in 2005.

I've not seen them that cheap anywhere. In fact, the lowest price I have seen for .cn domains is $28.99 from namecheap.com :S

Hmm, interesting. I assume there might be a small delay in the price reduction from registrar to registrant, to increase profit margin.

Otherwise, I'm ready to get into the Chinese market with the lower domain name prices.

Through resellers, we can reg .cn at that price since 2 years ago.
But it is only restricted to Chinese registrars.

Yes,and you can't transfer a .cn name from enom to a registar in China.So I have to renew my .cn at a high price at enom.

I only knew of NOW China provides RMB$100 per year for a .cn, (I got RMB Visa card & HKD Visa card)

Yeah but not in mainland, (Hong Kong SAR)
however my relatives in Guangdong can help if residential address proof is required.

I read the same a few days ago and I thought I'd post it here but I couldn't find any registrar that offered a price that corresponded to the press release. This may be another carriage before the horse, “internet age” release where the suppliers have to catch up to the parallel range for the extension.

Go with resellers, you can find a lot at bbs.chinaz.com.
But stick to those from dns.com.cn, net.cn, chinachannel or xinnet.com. I dont recommend other registrars.
But remember, Chinese registrars dont allow instant push. So considering selling them, youd better go with the international registrars, although it is much more expensive.
